Lincolnshire Management Completes Acquisition of Banker Wire

Mar 15, 2023

NEW YORK ‒ March [10], 2022 – Lincolnshire Management, Inc. (“Lincolnshire”), a private equity firm focused on investing in and acquiring growing middle market companies across an array of industries, today announced that in partnership with the owners and management of Banker Wire (the “Company”). the firm has completed the acquisition of the wire mesh product manufacturer. Financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1896 and headquartered in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Banker Wire specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality woven and welded wire mesh products for niche industrial, architectural and other segments, building a reputation in these markets as a go-to source for high-quality and innovative mesh solutions. Banker Wire provides a large mix of custom and stock products for both functional and decorative applications, selling through both distributors and original equipment manufacturers. Banker Wire’s end customers include companies in the architectural and transportation sectors, pet/animal caging producers, and data center racking makers.

Operating out of a new 245,000 square foot-manufacturing facility, Banker Wire runs custom woven wire lines and welded wire lines, as well as owns and operates two wire drawing lines that allow it to produce wire from steel rod. Banker Wire’s 100+ years of wire weaving knowledge, product development capabilities and manufacturing investments provide a high barrier-to-entry for new competitors, and the Company’s market-leading service has allowed it to seize market share from existing welded wire mesh manufacturers.

“Banker Wire has developed specialized manufacturing experience over many decades and this technical expertise is evident in its high quality products,” said T.J. Maloney, Chairman and CEO of Lincolnshire Management. “The Company’s long-standing industry reputation and recognized service to many sectors positions Banker Wire as a strong platform for continued growth.”

Lincolnshire Management Managing Directors Pieter Kodde and George Henry led the transaction, which is the sixth platform investment in Lincolnshire Equity Fund V and follows the firm’s successful acquisition of Whitewater Brands, a leading national omnichannel marketer and supplier of productivity-enhancing consumables and light equipment for automobiles to automotive collision shops and dealerships. Additional deal team members included Nico Vega Llona, Griffin Blake-Ward and Michael Morris.

“This transaction continues Lincolnshire’s strategy of supporting strong middle market companies with solid business fundamentals and positioning them for their next stage of growth,” said Kodde. “It is another example of where our firm’s financial and operational resources can help a respected niche manufacturer serving many industries gain even more market presence.”

“Under Lincolnshire’s stewardship, we believe Banker Wire can aggressively grow sales, maintain strong margins through executing on operational efficiencies and grow organically in its existing and adjacent markets,” added Henry. “We also believe inorganic growth initiatives can position Banker Wire for expansion into the high-margin filtration, border fencing, and mining markets.”

Lincolnshire was advised by Loeb & Loeb. The Taureau Group acted as exclusive financial advisor to Banker Wire, while Godfrey & Kahn provided legal advice.
