Private Equity Funds
Lincolnshire Equity Fund, L.P (Lincolnshire Fund I) was organized in 1994 to make private equity investments in leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations of companies. Lincolnshire Fund I represented $120 million in capital commitments and was used to invest in fifteen portfolio companies. Lincolnshire Fund I provided enough equity to its portfolio companies to make 10 add-on acquisitions. Prior to establishing Private Equity Fund I, Lincolnshire originated, structured and completed leveraged buyouts of seven operating companies between 1986 and 1993 in which Lincolnshire and its affiliates acquired a controlling interest. The Lincolnshire Equity Fund II was organized in 1999 to make private equity investments, principally in leveraged buy-outs and recapitalizations of companies. Lincolnshire Fund II typically invests between $5 million and $50 million of equity in each of its portfolio companies. Lincolnshire Fund II has made investments in 16 portfolio companies. In 2005, Lincolnshire organized Lincolnshire Equity Fund III. Lincolnshire Fund III successfully raised $433 million and has made investments in seven portfolio companies. In August, 2008, Lincolnshire closed its most recent fund, the Lincolnshire Equity Fund IV, successfully raising $835 million and has made investments in seven portfolio companies thus far.

Allison Marine is a marine outfitting, repair and refurbishment company that provides integrated land based and offshore services to oil and gas operators in the Gulf of Mexico primarily related to platform and rig logistics. The Company’s operations are focused on refurbishment, resale and recycling of platforms and equipment, fixed-priced platform decommissioning project management, and various other offshore support services. Allison’s business expertise involves all stages of the platform lifecycle, which is unique among oil and gas service providers. The Company’s services include the removal of used platforms and providing all of the logistical services required to dispose of them; selling fully customized, refurbished platforms and installing those refurbished platforms offshore; and maintaining, modifying and repairing offshore platforms throughout their useful life.
Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, AMPORTS, Inc. is the largest automotive port logistics and processing company in the U.S. The Company serves as an important link in the automotive supply chain, providing foreign and domestic customers portside value-added services in vehicle processing, including loading and unloading, inspection, storage, installations, customizations, repairs and distribution services. AMPORTS, Inc. operates at three U.S. portside locations in addition to Jacksonville headquarters and corporate office, in Baltimore, MD; Benicia, CA and Brunswick, GA. Customers include Toyota, Hyundai/Kia, Honda, Volvo, Subaru, Mazda, Volkswagen, Chrysler, General Motors and Ford.
Based in Vernal, Utah and founded in 1988, Cutters Wireline is a leading service provider to natural gas and oilfield exploration and production (E&P) companies. Cutters operates a fleet of customized trucks used to lower and raise measurement instruments and tools attached to armored cables into the shaft of an oil or gas well. The Company performs cased-hole electric wireline services including logging, perforation, mechanical services, and plug and abandonment. These services are utilized throughout the life of a well and are a critical and non-discretionary part of the drilling and production process. The Company’s instruments and tools are used to log and evaluate downhole conditions, perforate the well pipe and casing (an essential component of the process used to enhance the flow of oil or gas into a producing well), and recover piping. The Company also performs plug and abandonment services at the end of a well’s life as mandated by state and federal law. Based in Vernal, Utah, the Company services the Rocky Mountain region, as well as the Denver-Julesberg Basin, the San Juan Basin, and the Permian.
Dalbo Holdings, located in Vernal Utah, is a consolidation of four companies that provide equipment rental and fluid management services to oil and gas E&P (exploration and production) companies. The Company transports a variety of materials and equipment used primarily in the drilling, completion and production stages of an oil or gas well. Dalbo also operates a heavy haul division that moves rig components and other heavy equipment for its customers. With offices in Vernal and Roosevelt, Utah, the Company service regions include the Uinta-Piceance Basin and the Green River Basin in the Rocky Mountains; the San Juan Basin in New Mexico; the Marcellus Shale Formation in Pennsylvania; the Permian Basin in West Texas; and the Bakken Shale Formation in North Dakota.
Desch Plantpak is comprised of Desch Plantpak, Summit Plastic Company and Janor Pot. Headquartered in the Netherlands, Desch-Plantpak is the leading manufacturer of thermoformed plastic containers, trays and injection molded containers for the greenhouse industry in Europe. The company operates from four manufacturing sites – two in Great Britain and two in the Netherlands. Summit Plastic Company, based in Akron, Ohio, has a 50-year history in horticulture thermoforming. JanorPot, also located in Akron, Ohio, was formed in 2001 as a joint venture between Desch-Plantpak and Summit Plastic Company. It is a hybrid of product, marketing and manufacturing – combining the best talents of the initiators – thus becoming one of the fastest growing companies in the industry. JanorPot’s product line has grown from four sizes of round pots in 2001 to over 20 in 2006.
Fabbri is a market leader in the design, manufacturing, sales, and distribution of wrapping machines, films, and related parts and service for the fresh food packaging sector, which includes meat, poultry, fish, fruits, and vegetables. Its products, focused on stretch overwrap and modified atmosphere packaging (“MAP”) technologies, are sold to food retailers, food processors, and distributors. Over 10 billion products are packed each year through Fabbri's film and wrapping machines. Founded in 1950, Fabbri is headquartered in Vignola, Italy with manufacturing facilities in Italy and Switzerland and with sales offices and distributors around the world.
Flight Training Acquisitions brings together two recognized leaders in aviation training, Aerosim Flight Academy, formerly Delta Connection Academy and Aerosim Technologies to develop global aviation training capabilities, and to develop and market simulation-based products. The academy, established in October 1989 by Comair Airlines, operates a fleet of 73 aircraft and has a combined total enrollment of more than 550 flight students. Aerosim Technologies of Burnsville, Minn., founded in 1993, specializes in low-cost, high fidelity, simulation-based training products and offers pilot and maintenance technician training tools for ground school, flight training, and distance learning applications. Aerosim and DCA have had a relationship since 2007. The academy uses desktop avionics system trainers, advanced aviation training devices, and flight training devices for its Cirrus aircraft that were manufactured by Aerosim. Management believes the new company will be able to provide training more efficiently, allowing FTA to take advantage of the ever increasing global demand for pilot training.
Holley, founded in 1903, is a manufacturer, marketer and supplier of fuel systems and exhaust products to the $8.5 billion performance automotive aftermarket. The Company is a leading supplier of performance carburetors, electronic fuel injection systems, intake manifolds, nitrous oxide systems, automotive plumbing products and performance exhaust systems. Holley offers products that are coveted by professionals and weekend enthusiasts alike in virtually every segment of the performance aftermarket, from street performance to hard-core racing. The products are sold under numerous brands, including Holley, Quick Fuel Technology, Demon Fuel Systems, Earl’s Performance Plumbing, Weiand Air Systems, Hooker Headers, NOS Nitrous Oxide Systems and Flowtech Exhaust. Bankruptcy Management Solutions, Inc. (“BMS”), based in Irvine CA, is the leading provider of proprietary software products, computer hardware and support services to bankruptcy trustees and certain other fiduciaries. Previously a wholly-owned subsidiary of JP Morgan Chase, the company provides its customers with products and services that are designed to assist trustees in managing asset liquidations under the Bankruptcy Code, effecting creditor distributions and producing reports required by the Bankruptcy Court, the Executive Officer for U.S. Trustees and or various other requirements of fiduciaries. BMS also offers selected specialized banking services, integrated within the software, to allow the trustees and fiduciaries to manage assets related to their cases.
Credentials Services International, Inc. At the time of investment, Credentials was a leading direct marketer of credit information and monitoring membership programs to consumers. The Company's core product provided members with comprehensive information regarding private credit data held by credit reporting agencies. That information allowed customers to respond on an informed basis to credit decisions made by mortgage lenders, consumer finance companies, auto loan providers, credit card providers, banks and other lending institutions.
Excelsior Radio Networks based in New York City, owns and operates X Radio and MJI Interactive, as well as Dial Communications-Global Media. Through its X Radio programming division, Excelsior produces and syndicates more than 25 music programs and prep services in a variety of formats to more than 2,500 radio stations nationwide. Programs and prep services include “Backtrax USA,” “Rick Dees Weekly Top 40,” “The Countdown” with Walt “Baby” Love , “The Ross Brittain Report,” and Russell Simmons’ “Hip Hop Laws of Success.” Dial-Global provides sales representation services for over 50 national radio production companies producing over 100 different programs and services. T. J. Maloney is the CEO of Lincolnshire Management which he joined in 1993. Prior thereto, he practiced merger, acquisition and securities law in New York City. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Boston College and the Board of Trustees of Fordham University. Mr. Maloney has lectured extensively and has served as a guest lecturer at several universities including the Columbia University M.B.A. Program. Mr. Maloney is a graduate of Boston College (B.A. 1975) and Fordham Law School (J.D. 1979). He is the 2007 recipient of the Richard J. Bennett Memorial Award, presented by Fordham Law School in recognition of corporate leaders with the highest moral standards. Mr. Maloney previously served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the English Speaking Union of the United States and the Board of Trustees of The Tilton School. Mr. Maloney has also served on the Board of Directors of several public and numerous private companies.
Michael J. Lyons is the President of Lincolnshire Management. Mr. Lyons began his affiliation with Lincolnshire in 1994 when he was Chief Operating Officer at one of its portfolio companies. Mr. Lyons has significant operating experience, having served as COO for a number of middle market companies involved in the consumer products and printing industries. Mr. Lyons' experience includes the successful execution of several financial recapitalizations and operational restructurings for manufacturing, distribution and service companies. Mr. Lyons started his career as a CPA with PriceWaterhouse. Mr. Lyons is a graduate of Boston University, summa cum laude, (B.S.B.A. 1981) and Harvard University (M.B.A. 1988).
Vineet Pruthi is a Senior Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in 1999, Mr. Pruthi was Chief Financial Officer of Credentials Services International, a Lincolnshire Equity Fund I Portfolio Company and one of Lincolnshire's most successful portfolio investments. Mr. Pruthi is a Chartered Accountant and a seasoned finance professional whose background includes experience in high growth situations, turnarounds and start-ups. His industry experience includes wholesale and retail trades, international operations, direct marketing subscription services, pharmaceutical and fashion industries. Mr. Pruthi is a graduate of BombayUniversity (B.S. 1964) and Rutgers University (M.B.A 1981).
Thomas R. Callahan is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Previously he was Executive Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets at HSBC Securities (USA), the investment banking arm of HSBC, where he was also a member of the private equity investment committee. At HSBC Mr. Callahan's capital market experience spanned a number of years and encompassed numerous transactions. Under Mr. Callahan's direction, HSBC acted as lead agent for the capital raising for LEF II. He also served as Treasurer of The China Fund, Inc., listed on the NYSE, from its inception until 2001. Mr. Callahan is a graduate of Harvard College (A.B. 1969).
Ben Bartlett is a Senior Analyst at Lincolnshire. Mr. Bartlett is responsible for analyzing new investment opportunities and providing support in the ongoing portfolio management process. Prior to joining Lincolnshire, Mr. Bartlett was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Group at BB&T Capital Markets where he focused on buy-side and sell-side M&A, leveraged buyouts, and capital markets transactions across various industries including transportation, third-party logistics, and specialty distribution. Mr. Bartlett is a graduate of the Williams School at Washington & Lee University (B.A. 2011).
William M. Buttrick is the Communications Director at Lincolnshire. Mr. Buttrick is also a member of the Deal Origination Team. Prior to joining Lincolnshire, Mr. Butttrick was a multimedia producer for MLB Advanced Media. Prior to that he directed music research for advertising, television and film at Signature Sound and The Sound Market. He served on the steering committee for the Boston College Center for Asset Management. Mr. Buttrick graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.
James G. Binch is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in early 2007, Mr. Binch was President and CEO of Memry Corporation, a publicly traded medical component manufacturer, for nearly fifteen years. Previously, Mr. Binch was an operating group executive with Combustion Engineering and then founded a boutique merchant bank. He started his career with Cresap, McCormick & Paget Inc., a general management consulting firm. Mr. Binch is a graduate of Princeton University, cum laude (BScE 1970) and the Wharton School, magna cum laude (MBA 1972).
Patrick Coyne is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire and manages the firm’s Atlanta office. Prior to joining Lincolnshire, Mr.Coyne served as VP of Corporate Development for GWB USA, Inc., the US division of Gartland Whalley and Barker (GWB) plc., a publicly held investment company in the UK which acquires and consolidates middle-market businesses. While at GWB, Coyne identified investment opportunities, structured and negotiated deals, assisted in the due diligence process for a number of transactions and provided oversight of the portfolio companies. Prior to GWB, Mr. Coyne worked in the Financial Advisory Services group at Ernst & Young. Mr. Coyne is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a graduate of Rutgers University (B.S. 1989) and the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia (M.B.A. 1994).
Hunter Gustman is an Associate at Lincolnshire. Mr. Gustman is responsible for analyzing new investment opportunities and providing support in the ongoing portfolio management process. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in May of 2012, Mr. Gustman was an Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Capital Management where he focused primarily on securitization transactions. Mr. Gustman graduated from the University of Michigan (B.A. 2010) with concentrations in Economics and Statistics.
George J. Henry is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in 1999, Mr. Henry was an Associate at Bowles Hollowell Conner, a middle market merger and acquisition advisory firm that is a division of First Union Corporation. Previously, Mr. Henry worked for GAMA Corporation where he developed strategic planning simulations. Mr. Henry is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A. 1991) and the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at The University of Virginia (M.B.A. 1996).
Charlie Hill-Wood is a Principal at Lincolnshire. Mr. Hill-Wood is primarily involved in the execution and management of investments. After graduating from Oxford University in 1999, Mr. Hill-Wood worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in London before undertaking his MBA at IESE Business School in Barcelona. Pursuant to this he co-founded a corporate finance advisory business and worked for the Qatari sovereign wealth fund, focusing on real estate investments. He joined Lincolnshire in September 2011.
Philip Kim is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in 2003, Mr. Kim was an Associate at Knickerbocker LLC, a private investment management firm, where he was primarily involved in the execution and management of private equity investments. Mr. Kim is a graduate of Harvard University, cum laude (B.A. 1998).
Pieter Kodde joined LMI as a Managing Director in July 2005 and serves as a member of the Origination Team. Before joining LMI, Mr. Kodde was Managing Director of the Financial Sponsors Group for North America at Rabobank International, one of the world’s largest agribusiness lenders, focused on offering specialized products and services for the food, beverage and agribusiness sectors. Mr. Kodde was responsible for arranging financing for approximately fifty buy-out transactions in the food and beverage industry. Mr. Kodde is regarded as a highly experienced investment professional with expertise in the food and beverage industries. Prior to joining Rabobank, Mr. Kodde was with ABN in Brazil in Treasury and Corporate Finance. Mr. Kodde is a graduate of HES Amsterdam School of Business (1987) in the Netherlands.
Katherine A. Lehman is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in 2001, Ms. Lehman was an Associate at Conifer Capital Group, a private equity firm focused on the small to middle market. Her previous experience includes working in the investment banking divisions of PricewaterhouseCoopers and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where she focused on sell-side transactions, management buyouts and private placements of equity and debt. Ms. Lehman is on the Board of the Robert Toigo Foundation, an organization committed to enhancing diversity in the financial services industry, is a Director of NYPEN (New York Private Equity Network) and was a founding Steering Committee member of the NewLeaders of NYPresbyterian Hospital. Ms. Lehman is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (B.S. 1997) and of Columbia Business School, where she was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma (M.B.A. 2004).
Angela Lu is a Senior Associate at Lincolnshire. Ms. Lu is responsible for analyzing new investment opportunities and providing support in the ongoing portfolio management process. Prior to joining Lincolnshire, Ms. Lu was an Assistant Vice President in JPMorgan’s TSS Mergers & Acquisitions group, where she focused on buy-side and sell-side transactions within the treasury and securities services industry. Previously, Ms. Lu was an Analyst in UBS Investment Bank’s Mergers & Acquisitions group. Ms. Lu graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude (B.S. 2008) with concentrations in Finance and Management.
David MacDonald is an Analyst at Lincolnshire. Mr. MacDonald is responsible for analyzing new investment opportunities and providing support in the ongoing portfolio management process. Mr. MacDonald is a graduate of the University of Richmond (BA 2007) and Columbia University (MPA 2013).
James McLaughlin is a Managing Director and General Counsel of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in May 2005, Mr. McLaughlin was a partner in the global law firm, Pillsbury Winthrop LLP. Mr. McLaughlin has 25 years of experience in structuring and executing merger, acquisition, and leveraged buyout transactions across a broad range of financial services, consumer products, food products, manufacturing and service industries. Mr. McLaughlin is a graduate of Bucknell University, cum laude (B.A. 1976), and Cornell Law School (J.D. 1980).
Charles C. Mills is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire on a part-time basis in 1996 while attending Columbia Business School, Mr. Mills was a sales representative for Putnam Investments. Earlier, he was an officer at American Express Bank in Hong Kong where he was responsible for managing the assets of high net worth individuals located in the Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia. Mr. Mills is a graduate of St. Lawrence University (B.A. 1990) and Columbia University (M.B.A. 1997.)
Edwin A. Moss is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire and manages the Los Angeles office. Mr. Moss has over 20 years of private equity experience, previously with Mellon Ventures where he focused on middle market transactions in the West. In addition, he was a founding partner of Kline Hawkes & Co. and a Senior Vice President of Bank of America’s private equity group. Prior to entering private equity, Mr. Moss was an executive with the Times Mirror Corporation. He has served as a director of eleven companies. Mr. Moss is a graduate of Williams College (B.A. 1974) and Yale University (M.B.A. 1980).
Kevin A. Nappi is the Controller of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in 2005, Mr. Nappi was the Controller for Hampshire Equity Partners, a private equity investment firm. His previous experience also includes serving as the Domestic Cash Equities’ controller at Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., where he worked closely with its team of trading professionals. Mr. Nappi began his career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen LLP, in their Audit and Business Assurance practice. Mr. Nappi is a graduate of Villanova University, magna cum laude (B.S. 1996).
Nicholas Nedeau is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire and manages the firm’s Chicago office. Prior to joining Lincolnshire, Mr. Nedeau served as Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel at Stepan Company, a $1 billion specialty chemical company. While at Stepan Company, Nedeau was responsible for structuring acquisitions, managing divestures and for a joint venture in renewable fuels. Previously, Nedeau was the Assistant General Counsel for UOP LLC/Honeywell, a leading international supplier and licensor of process technology and catalysts to the petroleum refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries. His responsibilities included managing licensing and intellectual property agreements with entities in Asia. Mr. Nedeau is a graduate of Michigan State University and earned his Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School.
Brian Nethercott is a Managing Director and serves as a member of the Deal Origination Team. Before joining LMI, Mr. Nethercott was a Managing Director of business development with Valens Capital Management. Prior to joining Valens, Mr. Nethercott was Vice President of Investment Banking with Valufinder Group, Inc. Previously, Mr. Nethercott was a Vice President of Asset Management with Smith Barney, managing equity and fixed income portfolios. Mr. Nethercott began his career in New York with Goldman Sachs. Mr. Nethercott has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the Syracuse University, Whitman School of Management.
Kristoffer Nino is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Prior to joining Lincolnshire Mr. Nino was CEO of Creative Catalog Concepts, a Private Equity backed Marketing company. Previously, Mr. Nino was an operating group executive with the Private Equity firm Audax Group where he assisted portfolio companies. He started his career in consulting with Edgecom, a division of Ericsson Business Consulting followed by Celerant Consulting, an operations consultancy. With Celerant, Mr. Nino ran Lean Six Sigma Projects in partnership with clients such as Volvo Trucks, Honeywell and Wyeth. Mr. Nino is a graduate of the University of Linkoping in Sweden and is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt.
John O'Connor joined LMI as a Managing Director in September 2011 and serves a member of the Origination Team. Before Joining LMI , Mr O Connor was Managing Director at Barclays Bank Ireland, and head of Bank of The Bank of Ireland Acquisition Finance business with responsibility for sponsor coverage in the US, UK, Europe and Australasia. For 13 years Mr O Connor was based in New York and headed the Structured Finance activities of MeesPierson a Dutch Merchant Bank and part of the ABN AMRO group, and prior to that was with UBS in London. He has extensive experience in structured and leveraged finance having completed over 30 buyout transactions in industries ranging from Transportation, Engineering, Retailing, Financial services and Energy. Prior to Joining UBS Mr O Connor worked at Nat West and KPMG.Mr. O Connor is a Graduate of University College Dublin (1982) and The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
John Perrachon is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Mr. Perrachon was President & CEO of TouchTunes Music Corporation. Previously, Mr. Perrachon was CEO of De Agostini Atlas Editions. Mr. Perrachon spent ten years with Bertelsmann first as Vice-President, Finance and Administration for BMG Music, then Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer for BMG Direct and President of BMG Direct (Canada). Mr. Perrachon joined the RCA Corporation in 1980 as a Member of Technical Staff at the world-renowned David Sarnoff Research Center.
Brad Schwartz is the Assistant Controller at Lincolnshire. Mr. Schwartz’s responsibilities include investor relations, reporting, treasury, and operations. Prior to joining Lincolnshire in 2010, Mr. Schwartz worked at J.P. Morgan Chase in their Private Equity Fund Services practice. Mr. Schwartz started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young in their financial services office. Mr. Schwartz holds a B.S. in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany (2002) as well as an MBA with distinction from NYU’s Stern School of Business (2014).
Ottavio Serena di Lapigio is a Managing Director of Lincolnshire. Mr. Serena has extensive experience in leveraged acquisitions as a principal investor, institutional sponsor and fiduciary. Most of Mr. Serena's career has been in commercial and investment banking. Mr. Serena's prior business experience has been with Citicorp Venture Capital, Bankers Trust Company and J.P. Morgan & Co. Mr. Serena graduated from the Universita' degli Studi di Roma, with a degree in business economics, summa cum laude, (M.S. 1976). He is fluent in four languages, a U.S. and Italian citizen and served as a second lieutenant in the Carabineri division of the Italian armed forces.
Jonathan Soffer is a Principal at Lincolnshire. Mr. Soffer is responsible for analyzing new investment opportunities and providing support in the ongoing portfolio management process. Prior to joining Lincolnshire, Mr. Soffer was an Analyst at CC Industries, a privately held industrial holding company, where he evaluated acquisition opportunities and worked with portfolio company managers on numerous projects. Mr. Soffer is a graduate of the University of Illinois (B.S. 2006) and of Columbia Business School (M.B.A. 2011).
